What was done
We renovated a 1950s brick semi-detached home in Southeast DC from top to bottom. After a full cleanout, every level got new luxury vinyl plank flooring, drywall repairs, fresh paint, new interior doors, trim, hardware and light fixtures. The kitchen was rebuilt with white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, a black tile backsplash, pendant lights and stainless steel appliances, and both bathrooms got new tile, vanities and matte black fixtures. Outside, we painted the brick, replaced the old brick-and-iron front wall with a modern horizontal fence and gate, and cleaned up the yard.
Key difficulties
The house had sat neglected for years and was packed with furniture and trash on every floor, with damaged ceilings and floors throughout. Before any construction could start, we cleared the whole house down to bare rooms. Then we ran the trades floor by floor so the kitchen, bathrooms and finishes moved in parallel and the whole house was done in about ten weeks.

Cleanout and demo
The house came to us full of furniture, boxes and debris on every level. We hauled everything out, cleared the basement and removed the worn-out finishes, damaged ceilings and old flooring.

Drywall, floors and prep
We repaired and replaced damaged drywall and ceilings, prepped the bathrooms for new tile, and laid new luxury vinyl plank flooring through the bedrooms, hallways and main level.

Finishes and curb appeal
Fresh paint in every room, new doors, trim and lighting, refreshed stairs and a finished basement room. Outside, painted brick, a new horizontal front fence and gate, and a cleaned-up back patio.
